Richard Harmon | VP, Global Head of Financial Services

Dr. Harmon is the Global Head of Financial Services at Red Hat. He joined Red Hat in December, 2020 and has over 20 years of experience in Capital Markets with specializations in Risk Management, Advance Analytics, Fixed Income Research and Simulation Analysis. Prior to Red Hat, Dr. Harmon was Managing Director of Financial Services at Cloudera and also SAP Financial Services. Prior to this he held senior positions in Capital Markets at Citibank, Bankers Trust, JP Morgan, BlackRock, and Bank of America/Countrywide Capital Markets. He started his career at the NY Fed and Federal Reserve Board as a Research Economist. Dr. Harmon holds a PhD in Economics with specialization in Econometrics from Georgetown University.

Monica provides strategic support to customers as they look to open source and adopt open hybrid cloud technologies to drive business transformation initiatives. Monica’s focus areas are digital transformation and compliant infrastructure. Previously, Monica worked for prestigious organisations on a global scale – from Nationwide and Barclays to Coutts and Deutsche Bank. In her spare time, Monica works with female entrepreneurs and helps encourage more girls to participate in sports – she is the past Honorary Treasurer and Corporate Social Responsibility Champion for the University Women’s Club, London is a Girl Guides leader, a STEM-ette mentor and is the Global Chairwoman for Red Hat’s Women Leadership Community.

Monique Hesseling | Global Head of Insurance

Over the last 30+ years, Monique has held global senior business leadership positions in insurance companies such as Zurich, Chubb and Mutual of Omaha, ranging from large commercial sales to personal lines product management and marketing. Monique is a recognized industry data/analytics expert and contributed to the field by chairing the global insurance data standards organization ACORD for over ten years. After spending recent years as Cloudera’s Managing Director for the insurance and healthcare industry and with Accenture, Monique currently works on growing Red Hat’s insurance customer base and is excited to learn about the opportunities RHEL, Open Shift and Ansible offer to the insurance industry.
